1987 Mazda Rx-7 N/A

This car is owned by Kurtis Kohlman of St. Peters MO. The engine is a Mazda 1.3L 13b Rotary. This is a base model RX-7 that was later upgraded to the sports model by a previous owner. It was Mazda's star car of the 80's made to combat mainly Nissan and Porsche. It has independent rear suspension, DTSS, and disc brakes on all 4 wheels. This model was not equipped with the torsion LSD.

Modifications:

NGK plugs and wires
Custom fabricated single Y-pipe exhaust
KYB AGX struts (rear)

Work in progress:

Front Struts
Racing Beat spring kit
Racing Beat sway bars
Cold Air Intake
4 piston brakes (will take from the turbo model)
Front strut bar
Electro-pneumatic 5th and 6th port actuator (its being made and will soon be fitted)

Future Goals:

I really don't want this car to be an all out race car. I want it to be a weekend racer and a great daily driver. I'm not looking for masses of horse power but more towards the suspension and cornering. My goal later is to get a full street port on the intake and the exhaust. Doing this will get me to about 275 HP which is plenty for my car. My engine now only has about 45k miles on it so I have a while, but when I'm making steady money and am ready I'd like to convert it to a turbo model. The exterior really needs some TLC, I want to replace the passengers side rear quarter panel, as it is rusting. I would like to get a mild body kit that just accents the natural curves of the car and gives it a grounded look. I want to redo the paint because its really starting to fade, I'm going to keep it white and white as I can get it.
